| Although overseas vacations tend to be expensive, I do not regret for one minute the time I spent in Ireland. Our trip began with a two and one-half hour bus ride to O'Hare airport, followed by a seven and one-half some hours flight, and topped off with a four hour bus ride through the Irish countryside. Goodness gracious! I was very happy when we arrived at Ed Yoder's place. Wow, that was a long trip! Um, I won't be boring and divulge every detail of the entire week, but merely relate a few highlights. Nyal Beachy and I were the only ones on this particular trip. We had a grand time!
One thing that made the days very relaxed and seem like a true vacation was the fact that we free to sleep in every morning. Afternoons were time of dicovery and exploration of the Irish culture. On Monday, we visited the Hook Lighthouse. The Hook is one of the oldest operating lighthouses in the world. We spent almost more time walking about the rocky shore and watching the waves crash in. Very beautiful. Just lots of big rocks and water slapping up against them, but it was very beautiful.
Tuesday was spent mostly at the most amazing factory I have ever been to. Maybe it wasn't a factory exactly, but it was amazing and huge. Waterford Crystal is a purveyor of fine crystal. Very fine crystal. Everything is done by hand and if something isn't carved or ingraved absolutely one hundred percent, then that piece is recycled. They do perfect and extraordinary work. And their work is also priced accordingly. These workers of crystal spend quite a bit of time in training. Each ingraver spends two years in apprenticeship before they are trusted with finishing an entire piece on their own. The ones that work on sculptures and trophies are master ingravers and have ten years of experience under their belt. Like I said, their work is absolutely perfect.
Well, onwards we roll. Wednesday we struck out for Cahir and its historic landmark; Cahir Castle. Cahir is actually pronounced 'care'. Just thought I'd provided you with that small and insignificant piece of information. Anyways, Cahir Castle was originally built in the 15th century. So, it has quite a bit of history permeated into its walls. More than I care to type out, really. It was very interesting and quite fun. On the way back to Ed's place, we stopped at a pub for a late lunch. Soaked in a little more Irish culture. We also went swimming that afternoon. The sea was cold but very refreshing. The temperature had risen to a blistering 75 degrees. This is very warm for Ireland. Theirs is a very mild climate. I think temperatures usually average in the mid-sixties during the summer. So, it was a perfect day to go swimming.
Thursday we didn't do much. We finished some of our souvneir shopping in Waterford while Ed went to pick up Lois at the hospital. Lois had been to the hospital to remove an ovarian cyst. They kept her there until Thursday. I'm glad we got to see her even for a little bit. I guess things aren't the same with a mom around. Emily did a fine job though with the daily housework of preparing meals and such like.
Early Friday morning we had to leave for home again. I was so not ready to go! I had immensely enjoyed our trip! It expanded my horizons beyond my little world I have created and I liked what I saw out there and I want to do more traveling. Maybe next go on a three-month tour of Europe or go to Australia for two weeks. How about a trip through Asia. Now that's what I'm talking about! Probably all just dreams. Hopefully I'll get to do more travelling before I get tied down with school or who knows what.
I haven't figured out how to post pics through my Q otherwise I would show ya'll some proof of my trip. I guess you will have to take trip to Ireland and see everything for yourself. Its definitely worth your time and money.
Well, so long kids. I'm off to do. . . . . . . . I don't know what. -Paul
| So, what does a person put on his blog if he doesn't have anything significant happening? Make something happen? Get a girlfriend? HAH! Never in a million years. Don't need no woman hangin around. I can already find ways to spend my money faster than I make it. What I should do is go into horrendous debt and then try to play the victim. That would make things real interesting around here. Oh well, I guess life is alright without so many worries. I am planning to disrupt my grinding routine real soon. Nyal and I bought us some plane tickets to Ireland for the first week in June. Can't wait for that! Just two weeks from Friday. We'll stay at Ed Yoders' place. Swim in the Irish Sea, tour a castle or two, see the beautiful scenery might a few things we'll do.
It's raining right now and I'm sitting o the porch swing listening to it come down. It's so beautiful. Washing everything clean. I like how Christ's blood is like the pouring rain. Cleansing everything in its path.
My sister Ruth is kind enough to have all of us here at home to her place for supper. She ain't married, she's still available. Just thought I'd clarify that. I like my family, even though it's a lot of people. Talk about a conflict of interest! I'm the type of person who likes his solitude. But that's okay, God knew what He was doing when He put here. I'm still trying to figure out why. lol Alright, I'll stop rambling and hang it up. Carry on.
| Here it is! I finally got it done. This song is for the discombobulated frog, whoever you are. These are your words. I merely put them together. You Hold My Heart(verse1)I feel every beat of your heartWhen you tell me that you love meYou understand all the wordsThat I cannot express(chorus1)Because it's you who I laugh withIt's you who I cry withYou who I live for and you who I'll die withYou see straight through meYou catch me when I fallingBaby you're my everythingBecause you hold my heart(verse2)If I could just see you nowAnd feel you're warm, gentle touchIf you could be here with meI would be forever satisfied (chorus1)(verse3)I really don't know who you areBut I know deep down in my heartThat God has a plan for usSomeday we'll be togetherA day we've been waiting for(chorus2)It'll be you who I laugh withIt'll be you who I cry withYou who I'll live forAnd you who I'll die withBaby you'll be my everythingBecause you hold my heartThere you have it. What do you think? Could it be better in any way? I'm open for improvements. I guess it's official now. I'm going to be teaching school next year. It's know it's kind of weird that it is decided already but I am certain that's what I want to do. I'm excited about it already! I will have just 7 students which will be the perfect amount for this greenhorn. Can't wait to see what God has in store for us and for me!So long for now. | | |
| I'm sorry the previous post wasn't showing itself on my public site. I'm rather new at because when I wrote it I marked it as ''private'' instead of ''public''. Well duh. Oh well. Then we saw through a glass darkly, but now we see clearly. Never mind who I am. It doesn't matter who I am. I have a xanga site mostly just for fun. I won't ever upload any pictures because it takes too much time and I may not post anything after this. Six questions to see if your'e smarter than a fifth gader. You can't look at anything to give you an answer. 1. Which month is Columbus Day in? 2. Do polar bears eat penguins? 3. What does the REM sleep cycle stand for? 4. Who was the first president to be impeached? 5. If a given triangle has 16 square inches and it's base is eight inches long; how tall is it? 6. What ship did the pilgrims sail on when sailed from Plymouth, England to Plymouth Rock? Give me your answers in a comment and we'll just see if you're dumber or smarter than a fifth grader. | | |
| Hello to all out in Xangadom. I set an account up not so much to inform you of every detail of my life, but to check out what's happening with you all. If my identity remains a mystery to you than that's perfectly fine. I wish to remain anonymous, merely a stranger. Fear not I am no true stranger who wishes to taunt you but to most of you who read this I am fairly well known. If you figure out who I am, let me know. Perhaps I should clarify a few things a about me. I believe in the one true God, The Great I AM, Jehovah, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and the God of today. I believe that His Son Jesus Christ, died on the cross for our sins, and that on the third day He rose out of the grave, defeating death and sin so that we may have life eternal with Him and the Father forever in Heaven. I believe there is an awful Hell where the devil, that evil one Satan and his minions reside. I believe the evil one daily uses many weapons to wear down the saints. But fear not, greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. I believe that Jesus has already won the victory and that we can claim that victory. Praise God! I believe in taking the Bibile literally. God created the world in six literal days and rested on the seventh. I believe that God inspired all Scripture for exhortation and edification of the saints in all things. Doctrines such as the the women's veiling, modesty and simplicty in dress, footwashing, communion, the holy kiss, nonresistance, and others that I cannot think of right now hold much spiritual meaning and can only be fully applied when we understand there deep spiritual meaning. We should not be so arrogant as to shove any of them aside merely because we do not undestand them or have no use for them. It all begins at the very center of man, his heart. We need to know what we believe and Who we believe in. A few things I enjoy- TSO, BarlowGirl, Jeremy Camp, MWS, Chorale music, TSO, Nichole Nordeman, Chris Rice, Big Daddy Weave, Stellar Kart, TSO, Keith Urban, Casting Crowns, John Michael Mongomery, Lee Ann Womack, Vince Gill, TSO, Ted Dekker, John Eldredge, Max Lucado, Sigmund Brouwer, Owsald Chambers, John Grisham, Jane Austen, Jerry Jenkins, Sebastian Junger, Stephen King, Ken Follet, Robert Frost, Shel Silverstein, volleyball, basketball, softball, exploring. These are but a few of life's simple pleasures. With these bits of information surely you should be able to fgure out who I am, eh? So long for now. | | |
